I just can not imagine and don't think I ever could. It was already eighty five degrees at 7:30 in the morning when I stepped outside to walk my dog. I decided to go ahead with the walk but to keep it short and stay on the shadier side of the street. The lush mature trees cast cool, inviting shade that provided relief from the sun. As I turned the corner, what I saw ahead, drained the pleasure and satisfaction I was feeling from beating the heat. There above the tree line, fully exposed to the unrelenting power of the hot sun were three roofers sweltering in the heat. What super humans they must be, covered in long sleeve shirts and pants with only a hat to help them beat the heat. It was already approaching ninety degrees at 8:15 in the morning with a predicted high of one hundred degrees at noon. September 22nd, get here quick! End this summer now.
